“I put together the following list of things I’ve done in my life, some serious, some silly, some sad, some just plain wonderful-not to dazzle you with my accomplishments or the Star-quality of my life, but to emphasize something that it took me a long time to realize: Life should be lived as a celebration of every minute of every day. It is not a long hard preparation for a party someday. The party is this afternoon. So celebrate your life as it happens. 3. Got stoned with Miles Davis

10. Celebrated the World Music Awards aboard the Shamwari with Prince Albert of Monaco , Pamela Anderson, and Tommy Lee

11. Did breakfast at Nate ‘n Al’s with Larry King

12. Set up Cindy Crawford to host her first TV show, MTV’s House of Style

13. Had a hilarious dinner at Spago’s with Don Rickles

14. Rocked with Alex Haley on his porch in Tennessee

15. Purchased Barry Manilow’s Rolls-Royce Convertible

16. Bought Kirk Douglas ’s home with his handprint in cement in the driveway

17. Took pictures of David Bowie in my bedroom

18. Strolled along the Great Wall of China

19. Had Barry White explain to me all “380 degrees” of life

20. Laid in the King’s Burial Chamber of Egypt’s Great Pyramid

21. Bought a Motion Picture Studio

22. Saw the Rat Pack perform six times at The Sands in Las Vegas

23. Sat with Elvis on the steps of the Clarksdale City Auditorium

24. Dined with Mama Cass in London ; my drunken date fell out of the booth

25. Had a day named after me

26. Pissed with Kelsey Grammer at the Carousel Ball

27. Represented Sonny and Cher , and 25 years later made a movie about it

28. Danced with Nancy Reagan

29. Learned strength from Cicely Tyson

30. Almost died on the road to Agra to see the Taj Mahal

31. Signed Donna Dixon of Bosom Buddies instead of Tom Hanks

32. Tried to heal my mother when she was sent home after shock treatments

33. Cried with Peter Fonda in Rome over our fathers

34. Wrote 2 books

35. Produced 17 TV movies

36. Dressed Charlton Heston

37. Rented a limo from a funeral parlor for William Shatner and myself

38. Stayed with Jane Seymour at her castle near Bath , England

41. Comforted my Mother as she lay dying on Halloween night

42. Received 8 Emmy, one Golden Globe, and two Prism Award nominations for my productions

52. Sat on a Dinner Dais with President George H. Bush

53. Played golf with Vijay Singh at Shadow Creek

54. Was invited to the Rolls-Royce factory in Crew , England where I had a Bentley made to my specifications

55. Rode floats in both the Rose Bowl and Mardi Gras Parades

56. Said, “I do” twice

57. Witnessed the visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Medjugorie in Bosnia-Herzegovina

58. Produced 2 TV Series

59. Fired by Alan Thicke not once, not twice, but 5 times as his manager

60. Pitched a project claiming that Jackie Kennedy Onassis would host it only to have her enter the restaurant and be seated in the next booth during the pitch—before I’d talked to her about it

61. Represented Linda Lovelace, and after Deep Throat, she made Linda Lovelace For President. Her campaign slogan was “I may not be the best man for the job, but I’m better than the other c@&k-suckers.”

62. Took my family to Rome to see the Vatican

63. Cooked up a deal to have Wolfgang Puck cater my daughter’s Baptism

64. Watched the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo from a Yacht

65. Cruised Alaska with inventor and telemarketer, Ron Popeil, as his guest

66. Attended George Harrison’s Concert For Bangladesh

67. Invited 50 friends to Monte Carlo for my 3-day 50th Birthday Party

68. Received a Bible from Charlene Tilton

69. Dined at Chasen’s with Ronald Reagan who sadly told me the same story about his belt buckle three times

70. Got married at Jim Nabor’s home in Bel Air

71. Put John Larroquette in his first dramatic television role

72. Celebrated Paul Sorvino’s birthday at his daughter Mira’s Malibu home

73. Was told by Carroll O’Connor that I was his inspiration for his Southern accent in the popular series In The Heat Of The Night

74. Helped straightened out Linda Blair’s head

75. Managed Drew Barrymore, Tori Spelling, and Shannen Doherty

76. Sipped tea at the Dorchester with Gone With The Wind legend Olivia de Havilland

77. Flew to Rome with Tim Matheson and Ann Jillian

78. Received the Entertainment Industry’s prestigious Vision Award

79. Partied at the Playboy Mansion and I’m not telling

80. Was on The Dating Game twice and never chosen

143. Sat with B. B. King in his bus while he played his guitar, Lucille

148. Shared a loving life with my sister, Janice, and brother, Marshall
